About Auxiliary Online

Auxiliary Online is a small wet-weather clothing and accessories label. We sell the pieces that go around and under a coat: shells, overshirts, hats, gloves, umbrellas and the tin of wax that keeps cotton working.

We work with a short list of mills and factories. Waxed cotton is woven and waxed in Scotland. Lambswool is woven in the Scottish Borders. Merino knits come from Nova Scotia and North Carolina. Our umbrellas are assembled in England, and our canvas totes are sewn in Pennsylvania. Nylon shells are cut and seam taped in a factory in Vietnam that we visit each year.

Every product page lists fabric weight, measurements and care, because that is what you actually need to know before buying a jacket online. If a listing is missing a number you want, write to [email protected] and we will measure it.
